We’re delighted to be bringing The Community Big Lunches back to Thurrock for summer 2026.
The Big Lunch is a community-run initiative, supported by a partnership between Start Thurrock, Thurrock Council, Thurrock CVS, Impulse Leisure and Active Essex.
These fantastic outdoor events are a chance to get together with the people in your community for an afternoon of outdoor activities where we’ll be adding our special Start Thurrock twist with different acts and creative activities at each location.
Impulse Leisure and Find Your Active Thurrock will be working with local organisations to put on physical activities, sports and games for you to try, plus there will be stalls, face painting, music, performances and a DJ!

Accessibility:
- All events are at outdoor locations that are accessible for wheelchairs and prams.
- There will be accessible toilet facilities at each location.
- Limited parking is available at each site so spaces cannot be guaranteed. Where parking spaces are full event staff will allow you into the car park to drop off as close to the event as possible upon presentation of a disabled badge.
