Festival of the Sea, Grimsby
Jul 15, 2023

Festival of the Sea returns to Grimsby for the third year running on Saturday 15 July 2023.
Celebrating what makes Grimsby great, our heritage and future relationship with the Sea!

  • With a community-led programme of live music, arts and crafts, street theatre and walkabout acts, this one-day free event promises to showcase more local talent and skills than ever before.
  • Enjoy interactive theatre shows, live music and dance from talented local and national artists at Alexandra Dock waterfront during the day.
  • There’ll be activities for young people, families and friends, on site, or sign up for one of the walks to discover more about Grimsby’s heritage.
  • Drop-in craft workshops sessions all day long will get you engaged in hands-on activities on Grimsby historical moments, including finding out how the fish gets to your plate.

This year, the new festival partners, Swans Events, have worked alongside a panel of local people who are passionate about Grimsby’s history and community spirit to programme the event. From the entertainment, to the decor and market traders, everything has been carefully selected to reflect Grimsby’s unique seafaring culture and identity.

Date and time: Saturday 15 July 11am-5pm

Location: Alexandra Dock, Fisherman’s Wharf (next to Fishing Heritage Centre), Grimsby
