I was very pleased to finally be able to visit Julian Rudd, who many of you will know and who was my predecessor here at OutdoorArtsUK in the days when the organisation was known as ISAN. Julian is the Director of Remarkable Productions and has been part of many major outdoor events, festivals and productions in London and across the country – he’s a much-respected and much-loved member of our outdoor community; hugely knowledgeable, great company and one of the pillars of our sector.
Julian has been very unwell for a large part of the year, following a stroke in April, and many of us have been sending good wishes to him and his family during this time via a lively WhatsApp group.
He has recently moved to an excellent neuro-rehabilitation unit in Bloomsbury, round the corner from the OAUK office, so I visited him yesterday for a quick catch-up. I was so pleased to see the progress he is making – as I had just got off a plane from Spain, we talked of FiraTàrrega, where he and I often shared accommodation and where we really got to know each other over tapas and cervezas.
We were then joined by Julian’s wife Jeed and daughter Patty, who are, of course, being a wonderful support. If anyone would like to visit Julian, please drop me a line (angus@outdoorartsuk.org) and I can send you the link for the “Visiting Julian” booking form.
The OAUK team and Board continue to send Julian much love and support from OutdoorArtsUK and the wider outdoor arts community.
