Hat Fair returns to Winchester’s city streets and green spaces once again – with bold street theatre, music, dance, circus and more.
This summer, Hat Fair features the very best national and international acts, plus local talent, performing before some of the city’s most spectacular landmarks and for all ages to enjoy. It starts with the Carnival – an explosion of colour featuring hundreds of local school-children dressed in costumes based on the theme ‘Shout About It!’ and other local community groups.
Hat Fair will host several shows it has co-commissioned as a member of Without Walls, the ‘hatters’ will be returning from around the world, there will be performances from other professional & local acts and on Saturday evening, there will be a guilty pleasures party & disco.
‘From the banging soundtrack and fabulous costumes of Ancient Futures and Family Catwalk Extravaganza to traditional Indian dance with Mughal Miniatures and a party featuring your favourite dance records with Gobbledegook Theatre, Hat Fair will bring people of all ages together for two days of surprise, entertainment and fun.’
