You’ll also get to meet the giant Guardian of Leonardslee Woods, Gnomus, from the brilliant Puppets with Guts and Murmuration Arts’ Owl and the Pussycat.

Hastings Old Town Carnival Week is back for 2021 and begins today! Enjoy a week of exciting events, from pram racing to treasure trails, open houses to walking tours, art shows to historical talks, live music, street parties, and the Grand Carnival Procession.

To enjoy a bit of a sixties festival vibe, head to Thorington Theatre in Suffolk for ‘The Spirit of Woodstock’, a semi-immersive open-air theatre collage of the worlds and era that surrounded the “Mother of Free Festivals” presented by Something Underground.

On Saturday and Sunday head to Royal Victoria Dock for the chance to see Upswing’s highly skilled performers in Circus Flavours, then join the artists for a circus workshop afterwards where you can try out some of the Circus skills that you’ve just seen. Also at Royal Victoria Dock, Kids’ Summer Splash begins tomorrow, running until 22 Aug. Grab your towels and take a swim in a large lido built out into the waters of Royal Victoria Dock, then get creative in one of the sandpits, or relax in the family chill-out zones.

Stop by Bell Square in Hounslow tomorrow (Sat) at 1pm and 3pm to see Why? by Gravity and Levity, a tender and exhilarating aerial duet that explores the themes of life, loss, surrender and acceptance.

The weekend’s offerings from Kensington + Chelsea Festival include Roll Play by Simple Cypher and the world premiere of Upswing’s new show Seasons.

Join the Natural Theatre Company in Bristol this weekend for Shakespeare Undone! an immersive experience that takes you on a theatrical journey where the best bits of Shakespeare come to life around you, as part of the Bristol Shakespeare Festival. The festival also features outdoor offerings from The Three Inch Fools, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, Folksy Theatre, Quandry Collective and Quantum Theatre.

Head to Woodchester Mansion on Saturday for a very special open day, as NDP Circus take over the mansion and grounds and welcome you to join them for a day of theatre, circus and dance performances in Notre Dame de Paris at The Mansion. Wander through the mansion to experience screaming gargoyles, dancing Esmeralda’s and the mayhem of Victor Hugo’s 15th Century Paris.

The anarchically funny Oddsocks Productions bring their unique brand of Bardish humour to Brighton Open Air Theatre on Friday and Saturday with their take on Comedy of Errors.

East London Shakespeare Festival in association with the London Borough of Waltham Forest presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Wanstead Park this weekend, a riotous and magical outdoor production of Shakespeare’s most famous comedy.

Today (Fri) is the final day of IF:MK, so it’s the very last chance for Milton Keynes to enjoy Anna Berry’s ‘Breathing Room’, Luke Jerram’s ‘Gaia’ and Yara + Davina’s ‘Arrivals + Departures’ and a few more shows. You can then visit ‘Gaia’ from Sunday in Ulverston as part of Late Summer at The Coro, which also includes Enter Edem, MEarth MOthers and C-O-N-T-A-C-T.

On Sunday join Tmesis Theatre at Lodge Lane for a day of free performance and workshops at the launch of their tree sculpture, made by Liverpool based artist Faith Bebbington and local community groups, for the Seeds of Change project.
