We’re meeting in-person to share insights into ‘what next’ for culture in Dorset.
We will be joined by BCP Council Customer, Communications and Culture Portfolio Holder Cllr. Andy Martin as he takes up this portfolio and the council shapes its new strategy. Andy is a familiar face to many in the cultural sector, having spent more than 25 years as the news editor and then editor of the Bournemouth Echo, alongside teaching at Bournemouth University and his role as a chief examiner for the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
We will hear personal perspectives of working in Culture in our region and nationally, and potential opportunities in the future.
We will also hear reflections on the sector from:
- Angus MacKechnie, Director of OutdoorArtsUK
- Archie Rowell, Trainee Producer at Activate Performing Arts and Director of OffPiste Theatre Company, accompanied by a participant from Create 2023! A producer training programme in the county run by Activate/Inside Out Dorset, Arts By The Sea and b-side festival.
- Olivia Quayle, Bournemouth-based Artistic Director of Joli Vyann
