A Discussion on Good Practice and Environmentally Sustainable ways of working in the Outdoor Arts

Nutkhut & The Mela partnership, in association with Eden Arts and The #66 – a summer series of Environmental Sustainability conversations.

We kick off our first hybrid session of the season live and online from Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery in Carlisle. Join us while we discuss good practice, case studies and new ways of working.

Local events and local audiences are on the increase. Our data and metrics provide Mela Partnership events with common themes; local, intergenerational and often the only cultural event attended by our audiences.

Joining us for this session include:

  • Andrew Mackay – Director – Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Trust
  • Adrian Lochhead – Director – Eden Arts
  • Feimatta Conteh – Environmental Sustainability Manager Manchester International Festival
  • Mohammed Yaqoob – Director – Newcastle Mela
  • Teresa Moore – Director – A Greener Festival Ltd
  • Ajay Chhabra – Artistic Director – Nutkhut & Mela Partnership

Now is the time to ask questions, difficult questions about real-world sustainability in large, outdoor festivals, the distances audiences travel and the products and services being used to create Mela and other outdoor events.

This inaugural conversation about environmental sustainability in our sector is designed to open up questions with the wider Mela market and to hear how Mela can both teach and learn from the wider outdoor sector.

We’ll send a zoom link to all registered guests 24 hours before the event and some reminder emails shortly before the event.

We will record the event and share it afterwards with all those that have registered.

A limited number of tickets are available for anyone that wants to join in-person at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery in Carlisle. For further details please contact ajay@nutkhut.co.uk.
