Many performing arts organisations start with everyone working on a voluntary, unpaid basis; however, as soon as you move on from this, it is important to be aware of the many and varied legal issues that will arise. This webinar introduces some of the most important areas to be aware of when contracting workers and employees, including equality legislation, criminal record checks, tax, NI and pensions, and using overseas workers.
Trainer: Jackie Elliman
Jackie has a background in theatre management and has worked for various performing arts organisations, including street arts and the West End. She has also worked for TMA/SWET (now UKTheatre/SOLT) and Equity. She ran her own business for eight years, providing arts administration, marketing, and events organisation services. Jackie holds a Drama Degree from Manchester University and studied Law at the College of Law. Additionally, she is a qualified mediator and arbitrator.
Jackie has over 20 years experience at ITC and is insured as a legal advisor.
