Tit for Tat is an unusual Circus Theatre company that believes in celebrating the ordinary. We take ordinary objects, objectives and scenes, and we explore every nook and cranny until we make them extra-ordinary. Our work demystifies circus to lessen the divide between spectator and spectacle, using everyday items or occurrences that audiences can relate to. We believe in finding the most exciting and, more often than not, the most difficult way of getting from A to B. Even when undertaking simple tasks such as making a cup of tea, painting a wall, or changing a lightbulb.
Currently touring shows:
“The Most Dangerous Cup Of Tea In The World!” – because tea only tastes good if you nearly die making it!
“Books!” – because you can only get truly immersed in classics, like ‘The Goblet of Fire’, if half the stage is ablaze!
“Now I Am Become d/Deaf (Destroyer of Words)” – because we dont need words to connect!
