Programming / producing quality street band performance and creating excellent music participation projects outdoors
We bring street band music to life outdoors, in communities, at festivals and events, with young people, across borders and in collaboration with other artists and organisations. Taking decades of experience as performing artists, show devisers, composers and fun-creators, we use the music of street bands to bring people and communities together.
Oi Musica was co-founded by musicians Marcus Britton and Olivia Furness (Orkestra del Sol) in 2011, and became a social enterprise in 2018. We are ambitious, artist-led and based in Edinburgh – working throughout Scotland, across the UK and internationally. We create fun and inspiring music experiences that bring sound, spectacle and joy to public space and the outdoors.
Our work celebrates all aspects of group music making – generating positive shared experiences, celebrating collective success, and finding common ground between players from different backgrounds.
Continually inspired by the infinite variety and possibilities that street band music offers – both as an artform and as an access route into music making – we specialise in massed horn sections, street drumming and outdoor performance.
Recent performances and partners include Bradford City of Culture, Zinneke parade in Brussels, Freedom Festival in Hull, Merchant City Festival in Glasgow, Edinburgh International Festival, Kelburn Garden Party, Galoshans Festival Greenock, Inverclyde Council, East Lothian Council and more!
We love working collaboratively and are happy to co-design projects based on your needs – just get in touch!
