Experience a day filled with wonder, creativity, and cultural festivities at the WEAVE Arts Festival in Stalybridge! This extraordinary event, part of Historic England’s collaborative ‘Hi! Street Fest’ project, celebrates the town’s rich heritage, vibrant cultural scene, and cherished high street. All of the activities are free for all to enjoy.

Cotton Carnival Parade: Kicking off at 11:00 AM, a spectacular parade will make its way to Armentieres Square. Leading the procession is the larger-than-life character, Farrah the fox, a magnificent 5-metre-high puppet who’s taller than a double-decker bus! Farrah, arriving on a scooter, will be welcomed by a giant animated mill boy puppet, Charlie, and his friend Maude. Together, they’ll introduce Farrah to the town’s rich cotton heritage and offer a glimpse of its thriving cultural scene today.
