Clipper Round the World Yacht Race Finish 2022

On 30 July, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race finishes its epic circumnavigation in London’s historic Royal Docks, and the Royal Docks team is organising a free celebratory event for all to enjoy. Featuring music, entertainment, sailing, water sports and more – the Royal Albert Dock will come alive to mark the global event.

Families can witness performances and join in with workshops and face painting, led by Emergency Exit Arts, which focus on the theme of ocean sustainability. Children will step inside the ‘body’ of a whale, traverse a mini obstacle course, join in with a game and create an object or drawing to pin onto its belly. To finish their experience, children will have the chance to make colourful streamers made from recycled materials.

From 2pm – 4pm, visitors will be treated to a spectacular ‘Parade of Sail’ by the Clipper Race fleet, followed by an official award ceremony for the winners, where attendees will hear about each crew’s voyage.

At 4.30pm, the celebrations continue with an after party, with live music on the main stage by singer song-writer Rita Campbell and multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Alle Pearse who make up PARC, one of London’s funkiest and busiest showbands, Groove Empire, the incredible award-winning Abba tribute act ARRIVAL; rounding off the evening, the amazing Brit and Ivor Novello award-winning singer, songwriter, producer Betty Boo will take to the stage between 8 – 9pm.

Whilst all this is taking place, there will be roving performances to entertain the crowds and family workshops, as well as areas to learn more about the Clipper Race and watersports.
