Following the success of last year’s festival in Cumberland Market, Clarence Gardens, Regent’s Roots is taking to the streets to celebrate the community through a vibrant mix of performance, dance, circus, workshops, interactive art, inflatables and food, as part of Camden’s South Asian Heritage Month programme.

Arts and community combine with high-profile professional performances alongside local acts – and collaborations between artists and residents.

SPEND A DAY ON DRUMMOND STREET TO CELEBRATE SOUTH ASIAN HERITAGE MONTH!

From 12pm-6pm, on Drummond, Stanhope & Longford Streets and Regent’s Place, surrounding Old Diorama Arts Centre for Regent’s Roots, followed by Drummond Street Spice Sundowner across Hampstead Road from 6pm with music and food

WORKSHOPS

Get creative with have-a-go workshops including podcasting and crafts. Try some henna, have a go at calligraphy, or make a kite. Plus circus and podcasting workshops from Camden’s Roundhouse.

LONGFORD STREET MARKETPLACE

Get advice and support at our marketplace of local organisations and services, including Good Work Camden’s Job Hub Regent’s Park, Bengali Workers Association – Surma Centre, Bow Arts Trust, Camden Summer University, Detached Youth Team, Camden Housing Repairs, and SusTrans.

DRUMMOND STREET SPICE SUNDOWNER

FROM 6.00pm Continue the party across Hampstead Road with the launch of A Season of Spice. The 15 restaurants will offer taster dishes for only £5 enabling festival goers to test out the signature specials all along the street, complemented by DJs, Bollywood dancing, henna artists and creative workshops.

Part of The Drummond Street Neighbourhood project between Euston Town BID, Drummond Street traders, Jan Kattein Architects and Camden Council.

COLLABORATIVELY CURATED BY: Old Diorama Arts Centre and Fitzrovia Youth In Action with local residents from Community Champions and Young Guardians.
