This summer, Re/action Festival returns to Leicester city centre, celebrating creativity for the climate by bringing people and communities together to make small changes that create a big impact.
As part of Re/action Festival, and in partnership with Leicester Nirvana FC with support from Opal 22, we’re launching a groundbreaking National Lottery Heritage Fund project to document and celebrate the club’s rich history and community impact. This project will create an outdoor exhibition and documentary, both set to launch at the festival this July. Plus with the usual pop-up performances, exhibitions, workshops and installations, the festival will help us to learn how to re/wind our impact on the environment. The festival commissions new artwork that addresses the climate emergency, showcases local, ethical traders and food, shares skills, offers workshops in re/purposing and re/using, and celebrates the landscape of Leicester city and shire. The festival shows how we can make changes which add up to a big difference for the future of our planet. Key to the festival will be young people, as drivers, activists and producers.
