Trot along for a joyous celebration of arts and heritage at this year’s Horncastle Horse Fair! With fringe activities taking place across the town from August 1st – 7th, and the Mane Event on Saturday 8th August this delightful event promises a galloping good time for all.
Revived in 2023 to commemorate 75 years since the last historic Horse Fair, which was the largest globally of its time, this re-imagined tradition is set to celebrate both the town’s unique history and its present-day creative talents.
The 2026 Horse Fair Mane Event will take place on Sat 8th August at Horncastle Community Centre, St Mary’s Church, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust HQ at Banovallum House and is packed with creative activities, performances, and events running from 10am – 4pm.
Featuring ‘Drop Me If You Dare’ by Joli Vyann, an incredible acro-balance duet about the connection between two people, ‘Folk Dance Remixed’ who bring live musicians and dancers for a Ceilidh Jam… get involved and feel the joy and the beautiful show Butterfly House from Handmade Theatre.
Plus interactive activities, walkabout acts, a VR experience, a photo mosaic project, silly science experiments, stalls, games, theatre, refreshements and real horses!
