Holmfirth Arts Festival, Yorkshire
Sep 17, 2021 - Sep 19, 2021

Creativity in the Landscape
Like so many festivals across the country last year,
Holmfirth Arts Festival was forced to change its plans.
It did this by turning the original festival into three online
nights of art and music, hosted live by the inimitable
Nick Ahad and playing to an audience of 48,000 across
the world. This year we are returning to the glorious, varied
and live festival we had always planned, with many of
the artists returning from last year, but this time in person.
So whether you missed the whole event or tuned in online
every night last year, make sure you don’t miss this year’s
celebration of the return of an in-person festival.
Nestled in the Holme Valley, surrounded by the glorious
Pennine Hills of West Yorkshire, Holmfirth Arts Festival
celebrates our unique and beautiful area by inviting the
best local, national and international artists to respond to
the theme of the environment, in all its diversity. This year’s
cracking live programme has something for everyone and
includes an inspiring and entertaining indoor programme
alongside an awesome pay as you decide outdoor
programme including installations in the landscape.
Highlights include award-winning comedian Kieran
Hodgson, a commission of new music in a double bill
with last year’s commission for cello by Slow Cooked,
world music from The Scattered Collective, new theatre
from Kauser Mukhthar, with Biscuithead and the Biscuit
Badgers bringing the festival to a celebratory conclusion
with singalong and dancealong mad-cap tunes –
come dressed in your parade costume if you wish!
If you already know Holmfirth and the Holme Valley,
the festival is an opportunity to see it a little differently.
If you’ve not yet discovered this beautiful part of Yorkshire
then September is the perfect time to join us.
