Baildon Moor becomes the stage for an orchestra of hundreds of wind and nature-powered instruments.
The brainchild of composer Pierre Sauvageot, Harmonic Fields has previously been presented in Copenhagen, Marseille and Helsinki, and now comes to the West Yorkshire moorlands for the very first time.
An array of woodwind, string and percussive ensembles; vibrating drums, windmill xylophones, harmonic cellos, bamboo flutes, propeller sirens, gyrating musical boxes – will be played by both the elements and ‘wind farmer’ characters.
You’ll be able to wander through the landscape, pausing to listen to this unique symphonic experience with the magnificent rural backdrop of Baildon Moor, offering 360-degree views across Bradford district.
Bracken Hall Countryside Centre and Museum will be open on the weekend hosting free drop-in family activities. The site has toilet facilities available to use.
Harmonic Fields is part of Nature Season, a programme of nature-themed cultural activity, spanning all five West Yorkshire districts, from large-scale installations and open-air concerts to woodland art trails and community gardening projects.
