The Devizes International Street Festival sees a fantastic programme welcoming some of the best street performers, contemporary circus acts, dancers, musicians and walkabout shows from Europe and the UK  to Devizes.

BOMBAY BAJA

Bombay Baja Bombay Baja Immerse yourself in the rhythms of India. Formed in 1997 Bombay Baja Brass Band are Europe’s leading Indian brass band. They have created their own unique style by combining popular Indian melodies together with the powerful rhythms of the dhol drum.

ROO’D

Roo’d   Roo’d Always Roo’d but never offensive you can’t miss these two Roo’s, Jumping a metre off the ground and 2 metres in a bound they’re a phenomenal sight with their cheeky blend of outback macho and inner-city punk savvy. These Roo’s are bought to us by Joy Magnet an international touring company.

VALENTINO’S STREET BAND

Valentino’s Street Band   The Valentinos Street Band: The Valentino’s Street Band perform Jazz, Funk, Calypso, New Orleans, Latin and Cumbia. They play it all with verve and humour. They’ll be on the move and hope you’ll join them. Dance along as they fill the streets with their amazing sounds.

KING BRASSTARDS

King Brasstards King Brasstards Inspired by the sounds of the streets of New Orleans, this Leicester outfit has been taking the festival scene by storm. Covering everything from swing classics through to modern pop hits and soulful numbers. They are always open to requests, giving them the King Brass-treatment.

PICKLED IMAGE PRESENTS – PEEP SHOW

The Marvellous box of peeps and delights! Peep inside the box to witness the exquisite charms of Deloris the Devine (re-living her days as the belle of the ball, as she bumps and grinds in her surgical stockings), or Buster the Thruster (the Elvis impersonator with a penchant for pints and pies).

THE BLACK EAGLES

The Black Eagles were formed in 1997 and are originally from Tanzania, East Africa. They learnt their acrobatic skills on the streets of Dar-es-Salaam and combine stunning acrobatic skills, energetic dance and an uplifting musical soundtrack in a performance that is both enjoyable and breath-taking.

ROSE POPAY PRESENTS – THE ART TART

You’ll find the Art Tart anywhere from lavish parties to street corners, injecting humour through on the spot quick draw naughty portraits.  Take five minutes out of your day and take home a portrait like no other let the Art Tart literally undressed you with her eyes and her sharpie!

MIMBRE – LIFTED

Mimbre are an all-woman troupe of outstanding acrobats. Lifted is a collection of funny, poetic and surprising moments, which explore in different ways what it means when one body is carried by another. Or when one person carries two people. Or when a person doesn’t want to be carried at all.

BICYCLE BOY

An outdoor bicycle-powered eco-musical, for children 6-10 and their families. Our hero, Sam has 24 hours to clear out his grandad’s old bike workshop; it has been a difficult time and the business has to close. He remembers granddad teaching him to ride – and playing with him, pretending to be superhero Bicycle Boy.

SIMPLE CYPHER PRESENTS ROLL UP ROLL UP

Prepare to be amazed by Roll Up, Roll Up as Simple Cypher perform explosive tricks with effortless agility within a large, spinning steel ring known as a Cyr Wheel. This skilled duo combines freestyle Hip Hop and acrobatics with juggling in an innovative and original way in this playful production.

LOADED BY PANGOTTIC

Are you ready for take-off? Or are you in the firing zone? Hold on to the seat of your pants as PanGottic bring their latest projectile-blasting, air-powered extravaganza out of the workshop and onto the streets. Locked? Loaded.

OUT OF THE DEEP BLUE

‘Out of the deep blue’ by Autin Dance Theatre is a show of two parts.  It tells the magical story of EKO the sea giant who rises from the deep ocean and encounters, on the shore, a little girl called ᐯiolet.

LOST OPERA

Ashley Peever and Nikki Watson have created this interactive street performance that you can join using your phone.  huge bewildering beasts will twist themselves through the town each one ready to perform together with a musical composition like you have never heard before. We need you and your phone.

#HAPPYHEARTBIKE

The #HappyHeart Bike is a cross between a giant marble run and a kinetic sculpture, handcrafted and built onto the back of a bike over lockdown. The rider is Matt Pang of Pangottic, the inventor of this crazy contraption he’ll be proud to show you all the ins and outs of his curious creation.

ELTON WRONG

Elton Wrong comes to our street, driving a white piano and belting out classic songs just like a rocket man. This is a light-hearted take on the culture of tribute acts and of the great man himself.  You’ll be laughing like children and living like lovers as Elton brings an instant stadium gig to you.

HODMAN DODMANOTT AND SALLY FORTH

Hodman Dodmanott and Sally Forth from the Flying Butteresses Hodman Dodmanott and Sally Forth are two tiny adventurers from the country of Oblivia, with a lot on their minds and even more on their backs. Join these elderly amblers as they set out to discover the modern world, meet strange and exciting new people.

RIMSKI & HANDKERCHIEF

Rimski & Handkerchief Rimski & Handkerchief are a curious spectacle indeed, as they meander the streets with their marvellous musical machines: the Bicycle -Piano and Double-Bassicle Singing timeless songs of momentous, melancholic & magical magnitude, while performing an extraordinary dance on wheels.  Expect extreme eccentricity & silliness interspersed with moments of moving beauty.

THE DESPERATE MEN – WASHED UP (FEATURE FILM)

The Desperate – Washed Up (Feature Film) Washed Up – a feature film A bleakly comic study of a creative relationship in crisis. What drives two veterans of outdoor arts to keep making vital theatre when some days they are barely on speaking terms? The creative mechanics of Desperate Men’s fractious but fruitful partnership are laid bare.

AVANTI DISPLAY – THE SPURTING MAN

Avanti Display – The Spurting Man ‘The Spurting Man’ is a true spectacle unlike his long-suffering assistant who despises him. Give some appreciation to the undervalued downtrodden and under-appreciated assistant as he is soaked in 200 litres of water. The pompous Spurting Man appears on his pedestal a demonstrates a series of bizarre displays.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE – LIBBERTINE VALE

Artist in Residence – Libbertine Vale Libbertine Vale is a free motion embroider who specialises in social commentary and out of the box thinking which is reflected in her work. She will continue her residency from Picnic in the Park where she began to gather your musings on the last year, the year ‘we’ missed.

The Desperate Men – Slapstick and Slaughter (Live Show) The Desperate Men have been causing chaos in the streets and in venues for 40 years – 2021 is an exploration of next steps, ending, and reflections.
