Place of expression of freedoms, the public space needs more than ever to be a space conducive to the crossing of ideas and the mixing of cultures. Like Getting Involved in what’s Coming, the new show by Cie 1 Watt, and Légendes Urbaines, the new creation by Collectif Porté De Femmes, Cratère Surfaces gives voice to artists who work in and for the street, who question the place of citizens in the public space.
Cratère Surfaces opens up to the world by highlighting international proposals, with this year the Catalan companies in the spotlight. Inspired by different aesthetics, the six companies of FOCUS CATALAN have in common the desire to involve the spectators to the point of making them actors in artistic creation.
The Sète builders of the Cie Moso will not be outdone, since they will invite you to the construction of a monumental bamboo structure in front of Fort Vauban, before you find the Jura residents of the Cie Urbaindigènes for a highly participatory show.
To top off this desire to share, dance in the public space will be the other main focus of this edition: In situ and Block Party, creations by Jann Gallois; In Paradise by Ex Nihilo; Mirage by Dyptik Company; Inhabited the first part of the creation Inhabit the world of the Cie Délit de Façade; the accordion waltz of the Rustines de l’Ange and the swing of the Mouv’N’Brass brass band; and the indescribable Jacquard Brothers who will set the Crater forecourt on fire!
