In 1999 the first edition of Cratère Surfaces took place, so to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the festival, the Scène nationale d’Alès offers you 25 companies from France, Switzerland, Spain and Belgium who will transform and enchant the City of Alès for 3 days !
The festival will be exceptionally inaugurated by Gérald Rigaud from the Ministry of Human Relations as master of ceremonies.
The now traditional shared picnic will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday July 4 , while a choreographic and sensitive tribute to Freddie Mercury will ignite the square in front of the Cratère!
2024 is a special year for Alès Agglomération which is developing a new cultural dynamic with its Alès Agglo Scène des mondes project : after Catalonia in 2023, Cratère Surfaces is participating in the opening of Alès to the world and this year is putting Switzerland on the map. honor with the arrival of 7 companies , a fresh breeze with the best of Swiss creation!
Regional creation will not be left out with the second story of the Cie Délit de Façade project , the 2024 creation of CirkVOST , and the world premiere of Cie Mécanique Vivante , entitled Nénuphar . This unique and XXL creation, which received the support of the City of Alès, Alès Agglomération and the Alès Audace prize, will be available to discover on July 6 at 10 p.m. from both banks of the Gardon.
And three weeks before the Paris Olympics, the festival is labeled Cultural Olympiad with a large art and sport component, particularly around the participatory show À nos combats which will make you discover how boxing and dance can combine.
