An essential benchmark for creation in the public space, the Chalon dans la rue festival reflects current street arts. Each year, nearly 160 French and international companies take over Chalon-sur-Saône.
The artistic projects are selected ( Selection Off ), ( Aube de la Création ) or programmed ( Partis-Pris de Création ) by the festival team.
No form, no discipline is privileged.
Historical companies mingle with younger ones, street arts with digital arts, live shows with performances. Creations question society, while others play night owls, circumvent “formatted formats”, offer other temporalities or follow more traditional paths.
The city becomes, for 5 days, a vast field of expression where new modes of dialogue are imagined between artists, city, works and public.
