• Cockermouth Live!: Cockermouth Mechanics Brass Band is performing an evening concert “Brass on the Grass” in the courtyard at Cockermouth Castle at 7pm on Saturday 6th July 2024. The audience is invited to bring a picnic and to enjoy the music in a unique setting only rarely open to the public at the kind invitation of Lord and Lady Egremont. • Durham Brass Festival -Streets of Brass: Durham Brass Festival is a long-standing week-long celebration with events that takes place every year all around the county. There will be a variety of brass bands and musical groups playing amazing music for you. • Newport Pagnell: Olney Brass are playing the the parade at the Newport Pagnell Carnival! The famous carnival parade leaves Blakelands, lead by our very own Carni Croc at 12 0on. The parade travels through the town, past a huge and supportive crowd and down onto Riverside Meadow. Every year thousands of people line the streets to cheer, support and donate pennies to all of the parade entrants. What’s more, they do it whatever the weather! The theme for Carnival 2024 is….. • Pershore Midsummer Brass: Join us at our day-long, multiple-venue brass band festival featuring 30+ bands! We have all sorts of bands from community bands to those who compete at Championship level. Bands will be joining us from Wales, the wider Midlands, Oxfordshire and the Forest of Dean. You’ll have access to a whopping SIXTY 30-minute performances across the day. Please Note that the event has multiple venues: Pershore Abbey, Pershore Leisure Centre, The Angel Inn plus our free venue outside Asda in Chapman Court. 6 Jul 2024 – 10am – 10pm – 6 Jul 2024.

• Gateway Celebration of Brass: Join us for a celebration of our local brass bands, including Pontardulais Town Band, Brass@Bont Academy Bands, Loughor Town Band and Gorsei0n Band. • Bandstand Concert: Midsomer norton and Radstock Silver Band will be performing a bandstand concert at the iconic grade II listed Parade Gardens in Bath. • Picnic in Nottingham University Park :The annual Picnic in the Park organised by the Friends of Nottingham University. The event takes place in the Millennium Gardens on the main campus. • Summer at The Calder Vale: Grange Moor Brass Band will be playing a range of music at The Calder Vale Hotel for a 2 hour event (with a short interval in the middle for drink top up opportunities)! Free to attend, just join in the fun in the Hop Garden. 7 Jul 2024 – 3:30pm – 5:30pm – 7 Jul 2024

• Proms in the Playground new: This years #PromsInThePlayground will take place 8 – 26 July 2024. All brass bands and schools and invited to take part! Now an annual event in its fourth year, #PromsInThePlayground is the initiative that encourages community bands to connect with their local schools by offering a performance in their playground. As well as getting young people excited about brass banding, this initiative will help bands forge and strengthen relationships with organisations around them. For those bands that want to go beyond just a performance, the initiative is an ideal opportunity to offer a taster session so school children can learn about the opportunities in your brass band. • Summer Season on the Quay: Join us for our Summer Season of Concerts on the Quay, every Monday evening from 27 May through until 19 August, culminating in our Annual Appledore Proms on Sunday 25 August. Starting at 7.30pm we have an exciting programme of music for you to enjoy as the sun sinks into the Atlantic over the horizon. So ,grab yourself something to drink from The Seagate, some Fish & Chips from Sylvesters and perhaps a cheeky Hockings ice cream, and let us entertain you! 8 Jul 2024 – 7:30pm – 9pm – 8 Jul 2024
• Brass at the Seaside Schools Day: Young brass players from 6 schools will come together to make music as part of the annual “Brass at the Seaside” Festival. These youngsters will only have started playing brass in their schools in the 6 weeks before the festival. Tuition and instruments will be provided by Lancashire Music Service, and everyone will work towards the festival. 3 schools will meet in the morning from 9-12 and 3 in the after0on from 12.30-3.30. • Proms on the Pitch Ockbrook Cricket Club: Newhall Band will play an open-air set of all your popular favourites! Followed by a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ finish with flag waving and fireworks. • Brass at Malton Food Market: Visit the stalls and listen to the band at the Malton Food Market! The Malton Monthly Food Market takes place the 2nd Saturday of the month. Popular with all those who care about where their food is sourced, the market is set against the magnificent backdrop of St Michael’s Church. • Brassed On: Barnsley big free festival of brass music returns for its third year. Enjoy performances by headliners Grimethorpe Colliery Band and an eclectic mix of bands including Band Pres LLarregub, Yorkshire Imperial Band, Global Grooves, Backstage Brass and Barnsley Metropolitan Band (celebrating their 5Noth anniversary) and more. • Durham Miners Gala: Every year, more than 200,000 people march in Britain’s biggest celebration of trade union and community values – the Durham Miners’ Gala! It’s a celebration of the County’s mining heritage and the past we inherit – but also, the future future we create. Hosted by the Durham Miners Association (DMA) since 1871, the Gala is the world’s greatest celebration of community, international solidarity, and working class life. • Brass at the Seaside Gala Concert: A gala concert to celebrate the work of 2 youth bands, where each will perform an exciting set, then they will join together for some massed items to celebrate everything that’s great about brass bands! 13 Jul 2024 – 19:00 – 14 Jul 2024
• All Saints Church Fete, Hatchwood House, Odiham: A traditional English village fete. Attractions include RAF Chi0ok helicopter visit*, teas and homemade cakes in the garden, dog show, bbq, Pimms and beer tent, classic cars, horse and carriage rides, country dancing, choirs, antiques roadshow, Punch and Judy, bowling alley, coconut shy, bouncy castle, tug of war, giant raffle, lots of stalls and displays, and of course, Cove Brass Band! • Brass at the Seaside!: An outdoor festival Now in it’s 5th year, featuring 14 bands from all over Lancashire, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, Each band will perform for one hour, one after the other on the famous bandstand next to St Anne’s Pier. The event is sponsored by Lancashire Music Hub. • Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival: A two-day-long free brass band festival in the midlands! Our lovely site will include covered seating, food and drink plus a bar. Everything you need to enjoy a great day out. Over 20 bands will feature over the weekend, each performing a 30-minute set. Don’t miss the Pbone (plastic trombome) Gazebo with tutors for youngsters to have a go – times tba on the weekend. • Buxton Carnival Featuring Burbage Band: Buxton Well Dressing and Carnival is celebrated each year during the first two weeks of July. The annual event is hugely popular with locals and visitors, taking place around the town and including a big fair. It has Now been over 180 years since the tradition first started in Buxton. Burbage Band are very much looking forward to participating in this year’s carnival. • Brass At The Castle: A celebration of Cumbria’s Brass Band heritage. The event will launch the Cumbria Brass Network which will promote cohesion, inclusivity and youth involvement in banding. The organisers aim to break down barriers to participation, especially for those facing rural transport challenges, as well as marginalised communities. The weekend will link bands with schools, community groups and individuals with special needs. There is a rich musical tapestry of brass music in Cumbria which this event will help to capture, document, share and sustain through recordings and this dedicated website, to create a lasting impact on this region’s cultural legacy. “Brass at the Castle” is for all groups with a connection to brass: from brass bands to swing bands, wind groups to Bollywood.
