Bloomsbury Festival is an annual celebration of the area’s creativity, presenting an inspiring programme of culture, arts, science, literature, performance, discussion and debate. The programme includes an exciting mix of contemporary arts, music, performance, theatre, science displays, talks, walks and community events.
The 2023 Bloomsbury Festival theme is GROW. The theme can be interpreted as you wish but may be a response to botany, personal growth, world population, growth of ideas and so on.
And this year we are presenting a special project THE NEW BLOOMSBURY SET which will review and reshape the cultural, literary, architectural and heritage landscape of Bloomsbury through the viewpoint of artists of global origin in the 21st century with reference in particular to the Bloomsbury Group of the early 20th century. We are working with 10 young trainees from diverse backgrounds to help curate this project and welcome additional ideas.
Our ‘Grow’ themed DISCOVERY HUB – an interactive science and creative exhibition offering the latest innovations and outreach from local universities and institutions, will run for 3 days from Thursday 19- Saturday 21 October inclusive.
