b-side makes a welcome return this year with some wonderful artistic talent to celebrate, explore and engage with.
This year is an action-packed part two of our postponed 2020 festival. Covid – its impact on our health and happiness – is still throwing us challenges. In return, we are increasingly convinced that coming outside together on this magical island to celebrate culture is critical.
b-side festival 2022 deepens our investigation into Common Lands. Through new artworks created by artists from across the Isle of Portland and around the world – Austria, Greece, Kenya, Pakistan and Zimbabwe, to name a few – we are throwing into question migratory, queer and environmental relationships to land, both on our island and around our precious planet.
All importantly, this year’s festival offers a celebration and appreciation of the Isle of Portland: all the many forms of bio and human diversity that both visit and inhabit this special place.
