Arts Fresco (rescheduled), Market Harborough
Oct 9, 2022

The popular Arts Fresco festival has announced a new date for its 20th anniversary celebration. Following the postponement of the original date in September after the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen, the spectacular street theatre festival will now take place on the streets of Market Harborough on Sunday 9 October 2022.

The annual one-day event is one of the largest, free street theatre festivals in the UK and first ran in 2002. This year, Arts Fresco will host a number of performances from some of Britain’s leading festival and street theatre companies, ranging from Larkin About’s ‘Granny Turismo’ to Swank’s magnificent ‘Make Up’ artists, and Jon Hicks’ mind boggling art show ‘Icons’, to the New Orleans brassy sound of Arts Fresco favourite ‘King Brasstards’.

Performances will include:

Strong Lady Productions; Larkin About; Pangottic; Jon Hicks; Whispered Tales; Harborough Theatre; Somewhere Records; MarkMark Productions; Bubble Inc; Flying Buttresses; King Brasstards; Bureau of Silly Ideas; An Act Above; Swank; Theatre Illuminaire; infuseDANCE

Children’s Village:

Enter Edem; Mr Shay; Pedestrian; Paint Pottle; Circus Box

Neil Kitson, Chair of the organising committee of Arts Fresco commented: “We respectfully chose to postpone our original date and are delighted to be able to announce the new date. Our thanks go out to all of our volunteers, performers, sponsors and supporters for their understanding and willingness to help us with this late change in arrangements and the organisation involved in sorting out the new event.

“This year’s festival will be a special way to celebrate our 20th anniversary and we can’t wait to unveil the amazing acts performing for the good people of Market Harborough.”

Iain Kirkpatrick, CEO of Market Harborough Building Society, the main sponsor of this year’s Arts Fresco added: “It’s great to see Arts Fresco return to Market Harborough and celebrate its 20-year anniversary. The building society is very pleased to be a main sponsor for this much-loved family event and see it continue to bring our local community together.”
