A collaboration between Hikapee and Icelandic based company ‘Huldufugl’ the show uses aerial circus & creative technology, to explore the Icelandic folklore of the huldufolk (hidden people).
The Hidden People tells the story of a female architect who’s faced with the controversial task of building a hydroelectric dam in the Icelandic highlands. Under extreme pressure, she starts sensing a presence of something, or someone around her.
The performance plays with stories of the hidden people, constantly teasing the question of whether they truly exist, and their connection with nature and today’s environment.
From dynamic aerial drowning sequences, to constantly changing three dimensional projected landscapes, the integration of circus and technology is captivating and allows the narrative to be told in an exciting new way.
