Govanhill International Festival & Carnival 2026

GIFC is a community-led, anti-racist civic celebration. It brings together diverse voices across cultures, languages and generations to nurture a fairer and more connected neighbourhood.

Music travels through closes, shopfronts, park gates and tenement windows. Children move between drummers and dancers. The relationships, conversations and solidarities that shape Govanhill year-round become louder, more visible and more connected to themselves. Different languages, different music, different histories. Neighbours in this place, as they have always been.

The Govanhill International Festival & Carnival is an anti-racist festival of neighbourhood, resistance and recognition, running across sixteen days each August in Glasgow’s Southside.
