Arts Council England has launched early information of National Portfolio Investment Programme 2028-2033, signalling the overarching ambition of the next funding round:

Increasing opportunities for a wider range of people in more places to experience excellent culture and develop their creative potential.

The Arts Council will do this through:

  • Increasing investment and delivery in places with historically lower investment, engagement or both (particularly through Culture Priority Places)
  • Increasing opportunities for people who have had more limited access to excellent publicly funded culture, and fewer chances to develop their creative potential (particularly children and young people)

The decision making will be underpinned by the new Strategic Framework, which has three core objectives: Support excellence; Deliver for everybody; Reach everywhere.

Outdoor Arts Sector Strategy

OutdoorArtsUK welcomed the new Strategic Framework when it was launched in May, as it has strong synergy with the outdoor arts sector strategy – Wherever You Are, Whoever You Are, The Arts Are Yours.

The sector strategy and our response to the Arts Council’s new Strategic Framework demonstrate the vital role outdoor arts can play in delivering these shared ambitions, and we encourage it to be used as a reference point considering future investment.
