Mark It’– Celebrates Nuneaton Market place 800th Anniversary of the Market Charter in Nuneaton town Centre.

An ambitious Pilot outdoor marketplace celebration which builds on the learning & creativity of local Nuneaton & Bedworth based Freelancers – Through local commissions & programming responding to the themes responding to the themes of Marketplace, trade & skill & collaboration.

The idea has grown from the ACE funded ColLABorate programme of 2025 designed to support Freelancer development and training in Borough.

This idea has been co designed & with input from the network of Freelancers/partners/groups who have engaged.

Mark It is a place-based, inclusive project rooted in long-term, trust-built work in Nuneaton & Bedworth. It aligns with the borough’s Cultural Strategy priorities around access, participation, talent development, and town-centre activity, and supports ROOTED – Nuneaton’s Creative People and Places programme by embedding locally led creativity in everyday spaces and celebrating local identity, skills, and connection.

Over the past six months, Kirsten Tranter and Lou Lomas have worked as an embedded producing and facilitating team, delivering the colLABorate programme to strengthen Freelancer development, opportunity, and visibility in the borough. This groundwork has built trust, capacity, and strong partnerships across Freelancer s, organisations, and stakeholders, directly informing the design of Mark It.
