The University of East London After Dark Festival is returning on Thursday 26 February 2026 with a new programme, The Four Elements: Fire, Water, Air and Earth.

UEL After Dark returns this winter with a free, large-scale evening of outdoor performances and installations inspired by the four elements. Open to everyone, the festival brings together light, fire, circus and interactive art across the Docklands Campus.
The programme includes illuminated giants, aerial theatre, roaming fire performances and hands-on experiences for all ages, alongside local street food available throughout the evening. It’s designed as a relaxed, family-friendly community event celebrating creativity and connection.
Artists, shows and installations include:
- Unfurl – Air Giants, interactive robotic light installations
- Unity – Gorilla Circus, large-scale aerial theatre
- Ember and Ocho – Tim Davies Design, an illuminated dragon and octopus
- The Light Ship – Circo Rum Ba Ba, roaming illuminated theatre
- Les Ooh La Las, fire and angle-grinding performance
- UK African Acrobats, fire and illuminated acrobatics
- Xena Flame, hula-hoop performance and inclusive workshop
- Sway Pole, aerial pole performance
- Mahogany Carnival Arts, interactive carnival-making and parade
The event is free to attend, with advance booking encouraged.
