Purveyors of Interactive Silliness and Theatrical Roguery since 2013
We are 6FootStories, proud purveyors of interactive silliness and theatrical roguery. We make a mixture of original devised work, reworked Shakespeare and anarchic interactive content. We began as a collaboration between writer-performers Jake Hassam and Nigel Munson, who met whilst training at the Oxford School of Drama, but have grown into a core collective of performers, makers and creatives, with the power of the ensemble becoming an essential part of our creative process in recent years.
We have been proudly supported by Arts Council England on a number of projects, including our sci-fi comedy outdoor extravaganza The Intergalactic Circus of Truths, and most recently new outdoor show The Deadcoats and our touring spoof art gallery The Tat Modern. We are enormously grateful to ACE and to project partners like Redbridge Drama Centre and Havering Changing that have supported us over the years.
We also mentor students and graduates across performance, stage management and design, giving placement students and graduates from East 15, Central School of Speech and Drama and Rose Bruford significant development opportunities over the last few years.
In recent years our work has become increasingly silly. This is due in no small part to the world becoming increasingly serious. More and more, when we get together as a collective, the desire to have fun and put a smile on the audience’s face seems as good a reason to make theatre as any. Connection, laughter, unpretentious creativity, and most importantly, friendship – these are the driving forces behind us today.
