Darlington | 21 – 23 Apr | Rider Spoke is presented by Eden Arts: Explore the town recording stories about your life and listening to other people in a unique, immersive bike ride by award-winning artists Blast Theory.

Bradford | 22 – 23 Apr | A Newby Square Love Story is a devised performance created in response to interviews with members of the African Caribbean community in Bradford, telling the story of community life in and around Newby Square between the 1960s & 80s. It builds on Theatre In Flow’s recent Newby Square Stories project.

Sandbach | 22 – 23 Apr | This year Sandbach Transport Festival is back with a few tweaks to make the day even more enjoyable for the whole family! The festival will take place over two days, including transport-related displays, children’s entertainment, music on the cobbles and a vehicle display and parade on Sunday.

London | 22 Apr – 8 Jun | Time to book a class at Gorilla Circus Flying Trapeze School as it opens again in Hyde Park! Students start with a warm-up and then move on to practice a simple trick on our low bar; they then attempt the trick on the Flying Trapeze…

Redcar | 28 – 30 Apr | Rider Spoke, presented by Eden Arts: Blast Theory’s cycling experience moves to Redcar for another two-wheel outing.

Devon | 28 Apr – 1 May | Thrive Festival is a joyful May Day weekend festival marking the turning from spring to summer – celebrated through Indian music, culture, and creative connections with nature. Sanju Sahai will celebrate May Day with a Dawn Raga and the Bharatanatyam dance and music performance by Vidya Thirunarayan: Lives of Clay.

Bideford | 29 – 30 Apr | Red Herring’s Stepping Out is a mini-festival of adventure, performance and entertainment. A weekend of fun in Bideford, East-The-Water and Northam Burrows with dancing, laughing, listening, gazing, spotting – and lots of street entertainment including Avanti Display, BOSI, Angie Mack and Gobbledegook Theatre’s Cloudscapes.

Belfast | 29 Apr – 1 May | Festival of Fools is the largest comedy, circus and outdoor arts festival on the island of Ireland, with over 70 performances taking place on the streets of Belfast City Centre and Cathedral Quarter. Look out for Cat and Mouse Theatre, Tiago Fonseca, Gary and Pel’s Honeymoon Balloon, Fanzini ProductionsThingumajig Theatre’s A La Puppet Carte and In Your Face Circus plus load more.

Weston-super-Mare | 1 – 8 May | Good Grief is a new festival that aims to open up conversations around death and bereavement through workshops and events. Death, like birth, is one of the few universally shared experiences, yet many of us feel scared to face mortality, struggle with grief alone, or worry about how to support bereaved friends and family. This creative and diverse festival will give that elephant in the room a friendly prod!

Liverpool | 1 – 14 May | Eurofest will present 24 brand new commissions – 19 of which are collaborations between UK and Ukrainian artists – that will transform the city as fans from across the world descend on Liverpool.

London | 4 May | Celebrate a historical moment at The Crown Springtime Party as the country prepares for the Kings Coronation weekend, look out for Levantes Dance’s High Tea (with a Twist).

Spain | 4 -7 May | For three days Alcudia and Puerto de Alcudia are full of shows and activities during The Circus Festival, Circaire. At this festival, an extensive representation of Balearic companies participates, as well as other shows from Spain and abroad.

Spain | 5 – 7 May | The Lleida International Puppet Theatre Fair is the ideal setting for your children to delve into the magic and stories portrayed by endearing puppets. There are also networking opportunities for creators and programmers.

London | 6 May | As part of the Royal Borough, it is only fitting that the King’s Road hosts a day of extraordinary celebrations at the King’s Road Coronation Party. Expect live music and entertainment inspired by the King’s passions, each captured by the ‘plein air’ artists, painting the atmosphere as celebrations unfold – and another outing for Levantes Dance’s High Tea (with a Twist).

Brighton | 6 – 28 May | Brighton Festival is a celebration of music, theatre, dance, circus, art, film, literature, debate and outdoor and community events in familiar and unusual locations. The whole festival kicks off with Same Sky’s Children’s Parade on 7 May. The festival includes many of the Without Walls shows including Upswing’s Ancient Futures and Sonia Sabri Company’s Mughal Miniatures. And don’t miss Galatea: a radical outdoor revival of early-modern theatre and an unapologetically queer tale presented by Marlborough Productions and Wildworks.

Norfolk | 12 – 28 May | For 17 days the Norfolk & Norwich Festival transforms public spaces, city streets, performance venues, parks, forests and beaches, bringing people together to experience the same brilliant and inspirational events. The opening weekend will be packed with Outdoor Arts, including Jones & Barnard, Dulce Duca and Glasshouse Dance’s Time Machine Disco as well as the first showings of many of the Without Walls 2023 shows including Trigger’s Teabreak, Candoco Dance, Gorilla Circus and Just More Productions.
