2. Halloween in Totnes: Let the Light In | Totnes | 31 Oct
A watery voyage into the Underworld… Join the phantom procession down to the banks of the River Dart where the Ghost Galleon awaits. Here, meet the Goddess Styx and watch as the ferryman ferries souls across the water. Sip on your pumpkin soup as you encounter eerie light installations, walk through Totnes Carnival’s Halloween Window Wanderland and enjoy a range of preternatural live music dance and circus performances. 3. Halloween in the City | Manchester | 30 & 31 Oct
Get down and gruesome at Halloween in the City as Manchester plays host to the biggest monster party the city has ever seen! Look out for friendly inflatable monster perched upon rooftops, giant magpie puppets stalking the streets in their rickety, ramshackle nests and a spooktacularly stylish Monster Welcome Procession, created by Walk the Plank. Other highlights include Dr Mancenstein’s Castle & Gardens, home of Manchester’s mad-for-it scientist, and family-friendly freakshow The Carnival of Monsters. 4. Samhuinn Fire Festival | Edinburgh | 31 Oct
Reviving Samhuinn (or Samhain), the celebration of Celtic New Year, Edinburgh’s spectacular display of medieval street theatre puts a fiery twist on Halloween night. Telling the story of the dramatic stand-off between the summer and winter Kings, this processional performance will be brought to life by fire dancing, acrobatics, wild drumming and vibrant costumes. 5. Deepdale Haunted: The Wild Ride | Norfolk | 22 – 31 Oct
Strap in and prepare for a wild ride as you take a stroll through the sleepy village of Burnham Deepdale where nothing is quite as it seems. The ghosts and legends of Norfolk past are brought to life in this spooky promenade performance from Slow Theatre Company that combines storytelling, music and movement. 6. Paisley Halloween Festival presents Out of This World | Paisley | 28 Oct – 1 Nov
Enter an otherworldly edition of Paisley’s popular Halloween celebrations as it presents Out of this World – an illuminated trail of installations and light displays centred on the River Cart. Experience a series of unearthly artist commissions, from an alien invasion, to creatures in the deep, to a constellation of stars cast out across the water’s surface. 7. Halloween: The Lost Crystal (A Wizard’s Quest) | Cheshire | 26 – 31 Oct
Historic estate Tatton Park’s Old Hall wizards summon you on a quest to its ancient grounds to help find the missing forest crystal! This 90-minute family-friendly Halloween quest combines a self-led forest trail, creative activities, and interactive theatre from Rusticus. Presnted by National Trust in association with Rusticus.

8. Audley End Railway Halloween | Essex | 23 – 31 Oct
All aboard the Halloween express! Chug deep into the Audley End Estate and discover a cheeky coven of witches, wizards and magical monsters.
