Irish Theatre Awards’ special tribute to anarchic, visual street performers Macnas back to listing

We are delighted to hear about the special tribute award at this year’s Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards going to Macnas, the Galway-based creative ensemble that makes large-scale theatrical spectacles and innovative parades.

The award recognises the contribution of the company to Irish theatre culture and practice over more than three decades and will be presented at the Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards ceremony in April. Founded in 1986, the company pioneered anarchic, visual street performance in Ireland.
