Give a kick to ‘Fireworking’ back to listing

World Famous

We’re very happy to support ‘Fireworking’, a book to celebrate the pyrotechnic work of The World Famous – there’s a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for publication.

What is Fireworking?

For 15 years, The World Famous thrilled and entertained hundreds of thousands of people with their unique blend of fire and fireworks, pyrotechnics and performance. Since the company closed, we’ve been working on a book that captures the shows we created, and the experiences we shared. We’ve called the book Fireworking. We need your support to make it a reality.  We’ve had some financial assistance already: the Arts Council of England has supported us in sourcing, compiling and designing Fireworking. Your pledges will mean we can get it printed.

So what’s in the book?

Fireworking is a visual celebration of The World Famous. It has an introduction by Lyn Gardner of The Guardian, and a mix of hundreds of stunning photographs, personal stories and comments from those who witnessed their shows, as well as designs, site plans and technical drawings. “Fireworking is a luminescent archive of the ground shaking work of The World Famous” – John Fox, Welfare State International.
