Sismògraf, Olot, Catalonia, Spain back to all events

The Seismograph Dance Festival was born in 2009 with the aim of grouping in a cycle the dance proposals that were made in the cultural programming of the city of Olot. It started thanks to the impulse of the European Cities 3.0 project, but mainly thanks to two factors: the existence of professional and amateur dancers and choreographers and a receptive audience towards dance.

During six editions the festival brought dance proposals of all kinds to the Teatre Principal d’Olot and also in the streets, parks and squares of the city, as well as organizing parallel activities to bring dance to citizens as suitcases of the city DanDanDansa or the project All dance.

The festival was growing until the 2015 edition became one of the strategic festivals for the performing arts of the Generalitat, such as the Trapezi of Reus, Fira Tàrrega and La Mostra d’Igualada.

Since then, a seismographer works to be the epicenter of dance in Catalonia, with a double aspect: to be both a market and a dance party. To promote a space for professionals and creators to expand their dance within the cultural programming of cities and, at the same time, give the public the opportunity to enjoy dance shows of all kinds and formats.
