King St Street Party (live), Great Yarmouth back to all events
Head down to King Street on Saturday, 19th September for a lively street party celebration!
Seachange Arts invites you to join the party and enjoy a fun-packed international programme of music, circus, craft workshops, performance and street food that you’ve been longing for since the announcement of the Out There Festival Cancellation.
King Street will feature a long row of tables arranged in keeping with social distancing restrictions. Local businesses from King Street and surrounding areas will be invited to take part and in turn provide you with delicious food and drinks. Tables will be allocated to groups of 6, please book online.
King Street will be transformed into a vibrant hub with a buzz of activity and colour.
Marvel at large scale arches fashioned after the Portuguese Arcos de St Antonio festivities and canopy of colourful birds created by the community. Find out about Great Yarmouth’s fascinating migrant history, the transformation of King Street and the Cultural Quarter. Migration stories that have been gathered over lockdown will be exhibited at Skippings Gallery and played out through pop up performances by St George’s Theatre Amateur Dramatic Group. A captivating soundscape of stories, voices, song and music from around the world will provide a backdrop to the day’s festivities.
The street party celebration will inspire communities to come together to make new friendships and share their diverse cultures in a fun and exciting way!
