Calling Mela Creatives: Outdoor Arts & Mela Exchange Day back to listing

Sat 22 Jun 11am-6pm

The Mela Partnership and OutdoorArtsUK would like to invite anyone who works on, produces, delivers and takes part in events and activities in the Mela sector to come to the Greenwich+Docklands International Festival and get to know the Outdoor Arts sector better. Artists, promoters, volunteers and local authorities are all welcome.

The heart of the day will be attending the performances and shows in Greenwich Fair, which will give you the opportunity to see some leading practitioners working in the public realm. The national and international programme includes work by contemporary dancers from Motionhouse, sublime circus from Gandini Juggling, feminist acrobatics from Mimbre, age-defying aerial from Upswing and disability politics in the form of an anarchic game of Buckaroo from Wild n Beets.

The festival day will be preceded by some useful information on how the sector works and the chance to discuss and consider opportunities for future collaboration.

Well finish the day with an informal networking event for Mela and Outdoor Arts to get to know each other a bit better and meet some of the festival participants. GDIF is always a hugely enjoyable festival, so hopefully it should be a lot of fun.
