Newbury | Le G. Bistaki, one of France’s most inventive performance companies, return to Newbury tomorrow with their show Bel Horizon. Bel Horizon, which alludes to both a beautiful view and a beautiful future, is a unique travelling performance across Greenham Common which will beguile and bewitch.
Nottingham | Head to Highfields Park from tomorrow until 14 Aug for the Nottingham premiere of the new Architects of Air luminarium. Dodecalis cleverly draws visitors through its labyrinthine shapes and three domes where they’ll enjoy stunning, neon-like, vibrant colours.
Reading | This Sunday celebrate the music, art and culture of South Asia at Reading Mela in Palmer Park. Enjoy performances, live singing, fun rides, free kids shows, a shopping village, and the world food corner.
Hampshire | Boomtown Fair returns 10-14 Aug, starting with a clean slate and a world of new wonders to discover in Chapter One: The Gathering. Actors and characters will flood the streets more than ever before, huge parades will weave their way through the districts with buskers and pop-up sound systems on every street corner.
London | In King’s Cross from 10-20 Aug? Be sure to catch Future Cargo, the latest outdoor show by Requardt & Rosenberg in Lewis Cubitt Square. Combining large-scale spectacle with surprising intimacy, this dance phenomenon is performed in a 40ft haulage truck under the stars. Grab some headphones and connect to the strange world.
Crawley | Aura is a 5m high puppet created by Animated Objects Theatre Company who is visiting Crawley in August as part of Aura’s Odyssey in the UK. Crawley will welcome her with open arms, sharing stories, music, dance and art with her as she travels around the town from 11-14 Aug as part of the Enliven: You’re Welcome season.
Leicester | Journeys Festival International, produced by Artreach, runs 12-14 Aug, bringing together artists and communities to explore big ideas and create experiences that will excite and entertain. Expect to see some of the best international outdoor arts including Southpaw Dance presenting Rush, Aalborg Karneval with young Danish graffiti artist Frida Still Vium and Mandinga Arts, working with Spice Queen Productions.
